Me, in my studio, glazing one of my sea-life pieces. (2024)

Clay has unlimited possibilities, and that really inspires me. I have always loved the healing quality of forming clay as well as drawing, painting, and sculpting it. Over the years, my sculptures have mostly been narrative pieces and my pottery colorful and playful. Both focus on gesture and movement, portraying a moment in time. Life in this moment is all we really have, and that moment is most precious.

Drawing has always played a part in my process, and help to inspire my ceramic pieces.

My work has been shown nationally and internationally. Currently, three of my ceramic artworks are in the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, Italy, and my pottery is in the Koryn Shoto Kai, a flower arranging school in Tokyo.

I received an MFA in Ceramic Sculpture from the University of Tennessee in 1986. After graduating, I returned to my roots, New York City. I am now retired from teaching and live with my husband in Waterford, CT.

I would love to make art for you. Please contact me if you would like to commission my work.
